We met Alberto when we went to Iceland in 2020. Alberto is Italian and has been living in Iceland for a while, but being splendid and bearded; he looks more Icelandic. He is an ice climber, so Iceland is perfect because of more ice for his ice-climbing and wandering passion.
“Guys, I want you to see this.” He stopped the car on the side of the road and excitedly exclaimed that he had discovered the waterfall when he wandered around. The waterfall’s drop is low, and the flow could be more robust, but it looks lovely under the gorgeous blue sky. The water spouts from the top, bounces off through rocks covered in green moss, then gently flows to a small stream. I wish we had more time to wander around that waterfall longer.
After that, he drove us to a vast place, then walked to the rusty faucet. “Water around this area has a high content of minerals, so it is good for your body. Do you guys want to take a sip?” We curiously looked at the faucet, moved slowly to get water in our hands, and tasted it. Then we all laughed, “Alberto, the water tastes like blood.”
Charming by his Italian accent and love of being outdoors, Alberto is up to his sleeve to show you the magical beauty of Iceland.
If you visit Iceland, message him. I bet he will show you some unforgettable memories in Iceland.
